'Ride the Lightning'

Paul Rodriguez’s shop, Primitive in Encino has teamed up with Oakley to put out a limited edition pair of Frogskins. They were inspired by Metallica’s 1984 Ride the Lightning album cover, and feature a gradient colourway, fading from black to purple, to midnight blue, and eventually a clear finish. They come with a silk-screened bag, and two sets of arms, each branded with Primitive’s P logo. A matching tee was also designed for the release. The sunglasses are limited to 70, of which 50 will be made available tomorrow at 5pm in-store. The remaining 20 will go on sale through Primitive’s online shop the following day at noon PST.

Grenade x Oakley Frogskins

We previewed the Oakley x Grenade Frogskins that are coming out this fall a little while ago. Now we give you a look at the whole kit. With custom hard and soft cases and a GrenadeArmy dog tag, along with that ill laser etch logo on the lens, these are gonna be the hot ticket Froggies for sure. We should have a release date soon.

Oakley’s iconic Frogskins sunglasses gets an updated look thanks to this upcoming design by pro snowboarder, Shaun White. The sunglasses feature a Blue Chrome frame with Positive Red Iridium lenses with pre-orders currently available at Oakley.com. The suggested retail price has been set at $155 USD.

Encino-based Primitive, work up a new collaboration alongside Oakley, utilizing the eyewear brands classic Frogskin model. Inspired by Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" album cover, the sunglasses feature a gradient colorway, fading from black to purple, midnight blue, and eventually a clear finish. Along with special Primitive “P” logos on the detachable arms, the shades will come fully equipped with an additional set of arms and a custom silk screened bag, further emphasizing the theme which was conceived by Jubal Jones and the rest of the Primitive team. Look for these to drop in the coming Summer months, exclusively through Primitive.

Long time Oakley endorsee Shaun White works up his own rendition of the timeless Frogskin model. After designed his own set of Montefrio frames from the Square O campaign, these limited edition joints were a natural addition to the brands arsenal of lifestyle and sport performance eyewear. The sunglasses feature violet iridium lenses amongst a clear frame and custom baggie. A release is slated for next month via select Oakley retailers.
